Matsoko was born in Yokoshima Japan, and lived there until he was five years old. He moved to America after his parent's divorce, where his mother found comfort in relatives already residing there. He was able to learn English very quickly in public school and caught up to his peers in a short amount of time. Other classmates would often ask what is like living in Japan, though he had difficulty remembering much.



In his freshman year, Matsoko travelled back to Japan for two weeks to reunite with his father and half-sister Aiko. During his time there, he fell in love with his country's culture, and from there wanted to keep his heritage alive and well. He became deeply passionate about modern Japanese rock music, and took up learning the guitar to write his own. Playing guitar became one of his main hobbies, along with cooking traditional meals. He began cooking a few years before his visit to Japan, since he is an incredibly picky eater and only likes the food that he makes.



At 17 he was employed at The Beat, a small music store primary in selling albums and music sheets. He has worked there for six years, over time he became best friends with two other employees, Layton and Mark. During the late spring, he was frequently visited by a young coati. He would come in nearly every day and the two would talk nonstop with each other. He grew quite fond of this repeat customer, and after accidently running into him at the strip club where he worked, the two began a romantic relationship.

Along with playing guitar and cooking, Matsoko is also skilled in Judo martial arts, a hobby he took up after visiting Japan. He still keeps close contact to his half-sister by often talking to her through video chat.
